My Journey

I began my path of healing with severe back pain and a diagnosis of disc herniation at L4-L5 and L5-S1 during my work as a military trainer in South Korea. I experienced cortisol injections and modern drug therapy, but did not want to undergo the surgery that my physician ultimately recommended.

I knew the power of traditional Asian medicine and had seen many miraculous treatments performed with bodywork and acupuncture during my training as a martial artist; I decided this was the way for me. I was treated by many acupuncturists and bodyworkers, and regained my function and relieved my pain. I realized how to deal with pain in a natural way and devoted myself to sharing this knowledge with others.

I continued my work with martial arts in Korea, with a focus on yoga and stretching, and traveled to Southeast Asia to experience and train in other traditional medicine styles. I attended the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai and privately trained in Northern Thai Folk Medicine. Later, I became more and more interested in Western approaches to Holistic Medicine, and upon moving to New York City I attended the world-renowned Swedish Institute and the Tri-State College of Acupuncture.

I incorporate this variety of styles in every session, and I am dedicated to listening to each client's body and mind and finding the best way to relieve pain and remove blockages.

Always stay healthy,

Seungman Park, MSc L.Ac, LMT
